Today we made some rock cakes. I was a bit hard for everyone because we all had different textures with our dough. Everybody's rock cakes came out different but I think ours looked the best. It was very simple to make and It only took us 50 minuets to make it. They may not look like your normal rock cakes and more like cookies or pancakes but we are very proud.

Amazing talk with Mr Patterson and Raenon
Today is 11th of December. We had another inspiring talk with Andrew Patterson. This time he had a special guest with him and that was Raenon. The talk today was about learning what it was like to be going to collage. Raenon was talking about how different collage is to primary. My favorite part about the talk today was when Raenon was telling us about how collage was different to primary. He also said the the homework there is harder to what we do in primary. What Raenon had said tosay has inspired me to do the same. There was anothother aprt in the talk today the was also a good idea for the year eights next year and that was to set a goal. My goal would be simalar to what Raenons goal
was. I really enjoyed the talk today.

Friends are fun
This was from a while back
When we had maniakalani at school
We support each other on a running track
Although I act like a fool
Venetia always keeps it cool
We make each other laugh
The nicest people in school would be the staff
We all like sports
Were pretty good on the netball courts

Free Writing
I thought that I would do something funny and make some poems. These are two people that are important to me. There are many more but these two were the first one who poped up in mind.I found it really easy to write about them. I have made the ends rhyme and that's what I like about writing poems.

Fairy tale telling
Once upon a time lived three clever pigs. They all loved each other very much but they wanted to live separately.
One day they decided to build their own individual houses. The youngest pig made the choice to build his house out of straw not knowing that out in the woods there was a hungry beast that had observed him. As soon as he was done building his house the beast decided to move in. The beast knocked on the door and said “little pig little pig let me in”. The pig replied “not by the hair on my chinny chin chin” The beast then told him “Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in”.The beast had then blown the little pig's house down so the little pig ran to his brother's house. While running the little pig was squealing for his life.
The second oldest pig had wanted to build his house out of sticks. As the little pig approached his door he saw the beast chasing after his brother. He then hurried his brother up and slamed the door behind him.The beast was right behind him. The beast repeated himself and said “ Little pigs little pigs let me in”. In reply they said “Not by the hair on our chinny chin chins”. “Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in”, repeated the beast. He blew the house made of sticks down. The two little pigs ran to their older brothers house.
The two little pigs had ran to his house. He had just finished building his house out of brick. They had closed the door right behind them. The beast had said it one more time “ Little pigs little pigs let me in”. Once again the little pigs said “ Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin”. So the beast tried his hardest to blow the house down but he couldn't. The beast got tired and stopped. The beast wasn’t satisfied with what he did. He then gave up. He was upset and ran away. The three little pigs lived happily ever after.

Amazing talk with Andrew Patterson
This morning was very inspiring. Andrew Patterson talk to us about a few important things. There was one thing that I thought was incredible. He had talked to us about an eleven year old boy at Mangere Intermediate school. His name was Uili. He had done something inspiring for other young people to do. Andrew had shown us a video about what had happened. Uili had walk past the shops one day and saw a homeless man crying. He then made a great decision to give the homeless man some money and food. After giving the man some food and money they started talk to each other. Uili had done that for a week. The homeless man was in a dark place until Uili came along and helped him. The homeless man is now no longer homeless he now has a job and a house. Uili had defiantly changed this mans life. Because of this it has inspired me to do more things like this. I feel that Uili did a great jog and he has inspired me to do the same.

Role Models
Explanation Writing
WALT: practise explanation writing
Role model are who young people look up to. They inspire people to be just like them in the future. There are many different ways to be a good role model. Here are a few ways to be a good role model.
One way to be a good role model is to show respect to your elders. A few things you can do when showing respect is to do what you have been told, to not talk back and to use appropriate language and words around others. By doing all this the younger children will take notice. They will then realise they need to do the same thing.
Another way of being a good role model is to be kind to others. Complimenting others is considered being kind. You can also be kind by helping others in tough situations. Doing this kids realise that they need to do the right thing and follow being a role model.

Lastly to be a good role model you can show the younger kids to keep the environment clean. To help keep the environment clean you can pick up pieces of rubbish and other pieces of trash that is lying on the floor.
In conclusion I think that being a good role model is a good thing because you are helping by showing the younger kids to do the right things.

What I think about our movie
What I think about our movie
While room 3 were preparing for the Manaiakalani film festival we had come up with some amazing humaris thoughts. We decided to go with the top three funniest ideas. The group that i’m in started filming first. When we started filming I was feeling a bit nervous. But not long after we we started to get a bit out of control. We started laughing and forgetting our lines. The hard thing for me was when one of our actors had a simple line to say but he always got it wrong. For that we had to change a small piece in the script and I had to jump in and say the line. When that was over we got onto the next part of our movie. I had been laughing to much that I was out of breath. There was only a few lines left to say and we made the most of it. It was over my groups part of the movie was done and dusted. When we finished making our part we magically made our way back to class and carried on working.

Tackle These Word Problems
This week I have been learning how to solve some problems using multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division. I first started of thinking it was easy but once I got to the second slide it was starting to get harder. I figured out how to work the answers out without trying to ask people for help. It had come to the last slide and I was a bit happy that I had got to the end. Once I was finished I felt like I did well. I also felt that I learned a bit more from the questions I was given.
